조원(趙瑗)의 소실(小室)이 된 이옥봉(李玉峰)이란 여인이 있었습니다.
이옥봉은 시문에 뛰어나 여러 문집에 작품이 전해오고 있는데,
그 자신이 남긴 시집으로는 시 32편이 수록된 <옥봉집(玉峰集)>이 있습니다.
그는 조선시대 여인들의 정한(情恨), 즉 기다림과 그리움을 잘 표현하고 있는데,
이는 그 자신의 슬픈 생애와도 무관치 않아 보입니다.
그의 대표작으로 '규정(閨情)'을 들 수 있습니다.
